Merkurii has pleased scientists with new opening: it appears and on this hot planet there is an ice. Such data was collected by probe Messenger which turns now round the planet nearest to the Sun, — shares Science.
Still in the early nineties scientists have paid attention of last century to small stains on surfaces of Merkurija. Then there was an assumption that it in radar beams «glare» water ice. It is known that ice deposits on the Moon, are in deep craters where the sunlight does not get. Probably, as on Merkurii the similar analogy will work.
Device Messenger just also managed to confirm this theory. According to the information collected by it, the site of deep craters near to poles coincides with stains with high reflecting ability.
According to planetologist Nensi Shabo (Laboratory of applied physics of university of John Hopkins), "patches" from water ice are quite possible, as the fifth part of Merkurija is constantly shaded.
